And we went 'Blimey' : Blimey

Location : Level 05, 1 MG Road Mall, Trinity Circle, Kensington Road, Ulsoor, Bengaluru- 560008

I was bestowed with this oppurtunity on a Friday evening to attend the unravelling of the Big Foodie Fiesta Season-III by the Food Blogger's Association of Bangalore aka FBAB and therein, I was ushered with a gift voucher of Blimey. Little did I know about the place and so, on a Saturday evening, we decided to give this place a shot.

Blimey is located on the 5th floor of the 1 MG Road Mall alongside The Tao Terraces. The place looked charming. The staircases leading to the rooftop looked magnificent with the white curtains and green lights dawning the place. Absolute treat to the eyes. On one side you find an extensive bar and on the other, there were couches and tables. The very fact that you can overlook the Ulsoor lake and the MG road while dining added an extra charm to it. We rested ourselves on a comfortable couch and we surely did go "Blimey".

The drinks menu looked really exquisite :

The roof-top looked great too with those colorful lights doing the rounds and some great foot-tapping beats as it was a Saturday night. People started flocking in for the party and the scene became merrier. The DJ was all set for the party.

Coming to the significant part, the food. Well, we ordered Chicken nachos with cheese. Not one of the best we have had but the fact that it was served with some extra mayonnaise made us actually love it. The cheese seemed a little less but then, the mayonnnaise did the magic. And yes, the onion-tomato salad was a great accompaniment too.

The dirty martini was really "dirty". The portion of gin and olive juice was appropriate and the presentation was lovely.

The Chicken Pesto was absolutely bewitching. The ample amount of chicken, cream and cheese made it amazing. A real treat !

The staff was really courteous and very friendly. Well, on Fridays and Saturdays, they have a different menu for food and drinks at a bit higher price than the usual rates. The presentation of the dishes made us give an extra point to the Chef. The dishes looked so photogenic ! The desserts looked quite tempting and we are surely giving them a try on our next visit.

We left the place with smile on our faces with a promise to return back !!

Romanticising Ice-creams : Stoner

Location Ground Floor, 6th Block, Elite Building, Industrial Layout, Jyoti Niwas College Road, Koramangala 6th Block, Bangalore

Who doesn't relish Ice-creams ? And Stoner is an absolute delight ! Yes, it's definitely more than just ice-creams with pizzas and burgers also ruling their menu and Stoner does complete justice to all the items.

We had heard a lot about this place but the visit could never be materialised. It was one evening after a sumptuous dinner and we happened to loiter on the streets where Stoner is located. And we could not just help ourselves but just gush in.

The ambience is in 1 word : beautiful ! The interiors are very neatly done. On one side of the wall, you can find creepers with a wall clock in the midst of it. It's a spacious place which can accommodate quite a lot of people.

We ordered :

The red velvet cheese cake ice cream : A special addition to the menu the day we visited. Blush, we were lucky ! ;) I have always been fond of these rockstone icecreams and add to it, the red velvet cheese cake, sheer delicacy !!

And a barbeque chicken burger. Amazing ! Yet another treat, a perfect barbequed chicken patty with the perfect blend of flavours. Relished it !

On our second visit, we ordered a Monkey Business. A combination of Vanilla ice-cream, caramelized bananas, choco chip cookies, chocolate flakes and choclate sauce. So very delectable !!

We are definitely heading back again to try all the other items in their menu. The pizzas looked tempting but we didn't get a chance to try them which we would surely do on our next visit to this place.

And a Rendezvous with Brightness and Happiness : Cafe Medley !!

Location : 473, KHB Colony, 17th C Main, Koramangala 5th Block, Bangalore- 560095

We happened to stumble into this place quite accidentally one fine evening and we were enchanted by the effulgence and blitheness of the place. The pretty bright lights, the colourful chairs, the swings..so vivacious ! The riot of colours like yellow and orange is what instantly grabs attention. The cafe has two levels of seating with both outdoor and indoor seating options. The second floor has swings as chairs and is tranquil, so relaxing !

The effect of the ambience was such that it instantly lit up our mood and we know the place would do the same to you as well.

We happened to chat with the owner of this lovely place and he told us about his affinity for "Sunset". The theme of the cafe thus depicts colours like yellow and orange homologous to a sunset.

The frames on the wall were quite diaphanous. Interesting enough !

The mind warp with it's optical illusion effect.

We ordered :

Chicken barbecue burger : The chicken patty in the burger was soft and quite delectable. But it lacked the barbecued flavour. It would have tasted really great had they smoked the chicken patty and then stuffed it in the burger. Nevertheless, we liked it.

Mac and cheese : Not the best we have had, but the ample amount of cheese made up for the dish. The bell peppers, carrots, broccolis and capsicums with Macaroni in a cheesy sauce tasted good but you certainly expect a kick when it's the "mac and cheese".

They do have freshly baked items in their cafe and we would definitely drop in again to try their baked delicacies.
The hospitality was simply remarkable. The owner came up to us and enquired about the food, our expectations from the food. Much appreciated. :)

A cute place to spend some quality time with your dear ones.
